Frederick Maning settled on the Hokianga in 1833. His description of his experiences and impressions in that first decade trading amongst the Maori and taking the Ngapuhi Chiefs sister as a wife. CONDITION Pale Blue bds with Black title, title page illus with colour woodblock print, pp xxxvi 327 with 19 hsitoric photo illus, nice maori motif vignettes through out. Tight and clean copy. DJ has some wear and tears with loss at spine head, not usually found with this edition due to brittle paper type. Very Good/Good.
